LeBron James notched a game-high 36 points in Sunday's series-clinching win in Detroit.Nathaniel S. ButlerNBAE/Getty Images 1. There was a time that the Palace was the most intimidating venue in the league for the Cavaliers. But with seemingly half the arena clad in Wine and Gold, the Cavaliers rumbled past the Pistons – capping the four-game sweep with a thorough 99-78 win on Sunday afternoon in Auburn Hills.
Mo Williams and LeBron James combined for 33 first-half points and it just got worse from there for Detroit. The Cavaliers suppressed every Pistons run after intermission – vanquishing their long-time postseason nemeses in four one-sided performances. Now they’ll play the waiting game as the Hawks and Heat sort it out – with Miami up, 2-1.
LeBron was completely dominant again on Sunday afternoon – finishing with 36 points, 13 boards, eight assists, two steals and a blocked shot. (LeBron crushed a offering late in the fourth quarter that was called goaltending – much to the delight of the countless Cavalier fans at the Palace.)
